Legal Requirements for Your Wedding
Getting married in Australia involves a few simple legal steps, and I’ll guide you through each one so the process feels clear and stress-free. You’ll need to complete a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form and lodge it with me at least one month before your wedding day, provide proof of identity and eligibility such as a passport or birth certificate, and have two witnesses over the age of 18 present at your ceremony.
As your celebrant, I’ll make sure all forms are filled out correctly, lodged on time, and that the required legal wording is included in your ceremony. I also follow the official Celebrant Code of Practice, which sets the professional standards you can expect throughout the process.
To help you get started, you can download the NOIM form and download the Celebrant Code of Practice here, and I’ll be with you every step of the way to answer questions and provide guidance.
